Definition

IFS Food v8 (2023) covers HACCP, Food Defense, allergens management, traceability, fraud mitigation. Score: Higher Level (75-90%) or Foundation Level (50-75%). Certificates exchanged via IFS Database and downloadable in PDF/XML for retailer integration (Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi).

Origin

Initiated by German retailers (HDE) in 2003 ; v8 published in 2023.

Example in context

A French charcuterie plant obtains IFS Food Higher Level 92% and can supply Aldi DE.
