ZUGFeRD CII XML

The embedded CII XML payload inside the ZUGFeRD/Factur-X hybrid invoice.

Definition

ZUGFeRD 2 and Factur-X embed a machine-readable XML inside a PDF/A-3 container. The root element is <rsm:CrossIndustryInvoice> (CII), based on UN/CEFACT D16B. The attached file is named factur-x.xml (Factur-X) or zugferd-invoice.xml (ZUGFeRD), declared in the PDF's XMP metadata.

Origin

Syntax defined by the UN/CEFACT Cross Industry Invoice (CII) schema D16B; container standardised by ISO 19005-3 (PDF/A-3). Profiles co-published by FNFE-MPE (Factur-X) and FeRD (ZUGFeRD).
