SAC loop

ASC X12 allowances and charges segment.

Definition

SAC carries in SAC01 an Allowance/Charge indicator (A = allowance, C = charge) and in SAC02 a service/promotion code (element 1300). It can express the amount (SAC05), a percentage (SAC07/SAC08) and a calculation basis. Placed in the header, it applies to the whole document; placed in a line loop (after PO1 or IT1), it applies to that line.

Origin

Defined in the ASC X12 EDI Standard (segment dictionary, SAC segment), maintained by the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ANSI ASC X12).

Example in context

SAC*A*C310***5000~ — an allowance (A), code C310, amount 50.00 (5000 in implied cents).

  • SAC — the base segment.
  • TDS — invoice monetary totals.
