VDA 4994 (GTL)
The shared Odette/AIAG/JAMA-JAPIA logistics label for automotive.
Definition
The Global Transport Label supersedes the older Odette Transport Label (OTL) and VDA 4902. It structures shipping data (part no., quantity, supplier, SSCC/Licence Plate barcode) in Code 128 and Data Matrix across a three-zone layout, giving consistent shipping-unit tracking along the supply chain.
Origin
VDA Recommendation 4994 (VDA), aligned with the Global Transport Label specification developed jointly by Odette, AIAG and JAMA/JAPIA.
Example in context
A supplier prints a GTL carrying a Data Matrix encoding the part number and the unit's SSCC, scanned at goods receipt in the plant.
