UNA

The six characters that announce: "here are my EDIFACT separators".

Definition

When present, UNA precedes UNB and fixes six service characters: component separator within a composite (":"), data element separator ("+"), decimal notation ("."), release character ("?"), reserved (" "), segment terminator ("\""). Required when deviating from UNOC defaults.
