UBIQUITOUS-LANGUAGE
Shared business vocabulary in bounded context.
Definition
The ubiquitous language removes implicit translation between business and tech. Class, method, and table names reflect exact business terms. Evolves with the domain. Documented in the code (and tests), not in separate docs. Crucial for Event Storming and CQRS-friendly designs.
Origin
Concept published by Eric Evans in Domain-Driven Design (2003), chapter 2.
Example in context
At Stellantis it is 'pre-shipment notification' (ASN) in Procurement and 'manifest' in Logistics — two bounded contexts.
