TEAPPSXML

Tieto’s historical invoice format, alongside Finvoice in Finland.

Definition

TEAPPSXML is a Finnish XML e-invoice format, created by the software company Tieto (now Tietoevry) in the late 1990s. Together with Finvoice (maintained by Finance Finland), it is one of the two national formats circulating in the Finnish network of operators and banks.

Place in the ecosystem

In Finland, e-invoicing runs through a mature network of operators (banks and service providers). Operators routinely convert between TEAPPSXML and Finvoice depending on the recipient’s channel. TEAPPSXML 3.0, like Finvoice 3.0, is aligned with the EN 16931 semantics, ensuring European compliance.

Good to know

Unlike Finvoice (a marketplace standard maintained by the banking federation), TEAPPSXML is vendor-born — a reminder that the Finnish ecosystem was built by operator practice well before the European mandates.
