TA1
X12 TA1 segment, the envelope-level acknowledgment requested via ISA14.
Definition
TA1 echoes TA101 — Interchange Control Number (the sender's ISA13) and TA102/103 — Interchange Date/Time, then reports TA104 — Interchange Acknowledgment Code (A accepted, E accepted with errors, R rejected) and TA105 — Interchange Note Code giving the specific envelope error. It is requested by setting ISA14 to 1 and validates only the envelope, not the transaction content (which the 997/999 covers).
Origin
Defined in the ANSI ASC X12.5 (Interchange and Application Control Structures) standard, maintained by the Accredited Standards Committee X12. TA1 may travel as a standalone segment between ISA and IEA, without a GS/GE wrapper.
Example in context
<ISA*...*1*P*>~<TA1*000012345*260620*1530*A*000~<IEA*0*000012345~ — interchange 000012345 accepted (A) with note code 000 (no error).</p>
