FileAct
SWIFTNet's file-transfer service, high volumes.
Definition
FileAct transfers files of any structure (payment batches, statements, reconciliations) in store-and-forward or real-time mode. It is preferred when volume exceeds what FIN handles message by message, for example pain.001 batches or account statement extracts.
Origin
Service defined and operated by Swift, documented in the SWIFTNet FileAct Service Description published by Swift.
Example in context
A corporate sends a batch of pain.001 credit transfers to its bank via FileAct rather than message by message over FIN.
