STS

UN/EDIFACT status segment, used to qualify lines in stock and sales reporting messages.

Definition

The STS segment carries a status category (C601), a status value (C555) and a reason (C556). In INVRPT it is used notably to indicate the movement type or the function of the inventory line (e.g. opening stock, receipt, issue).

Origin

Segment defined in the UN/EDIFACT Segment Directory, part of the UNTDID maintained by UN/CEFACT; status codes draw on the UNTDED (ISO 7372).

Example in context

STS+2' — declares a status category applying to the inventory line that follows in the segment group.

  • INVRPT — uses STS to type stock lines.
