Definition
The eFiling portal is the online interface of SARS (South African Revenue Service). Lets taxpayers file VAT201, IT14, IRP6 and other declarations. SARS is currently piloting an e-Invoicing project inspired by PEPPOL for 2025-2027 with public consultation underway.
Origin
Established in 2001, mandatory for VAT returns since 2008. Over 6 million registered profiles.
