RO e-Transport (UIT)
Romanian goods-transport monitoring system, distinct from RO e-Factura.
Definition
The declarant (supplier, beneficiary or warehouse keeper) declares the consignment before departure; the system returns a UIT code (Cod Unic de Inregistrare a Transportului), a 16-character alphanumeric code valid 5 days for domestic transport and 15 days for intra-community acquisitions. Mandatory for high-fiscal-risk goods since 1 July 2022, extended to all international transport on Romanian territory from December 2023.
Origin
Established by Government Emergency Ordinance (OUG) 41/2022, amended by OUG 115/2023; high-fiscal-risk goods set by Order 802/2022 of the President of ANAF (Agentia Nationala de Administrare Fiscala).
Example in context
An importer declares a truckload of textiles before the border crossing; ANAF returns a 16-character UIT code that the carrier must present on request to control authorities.
