MLR
Message-level acknowledgement on the PEPPOL network, distinct from the transport MDN.
Definition
The MLR answers "did the document pass validation?". Built on UBL ApplicationResponse, it carries a response code (AB acknowledged, AP accepted, RE rejected) and, on rejection, the list of Schematron errors. It is distinct from the AS2 MDN / AS4 signal (transport receipt) and complements the Invoice Response on the business side.
Origin
Defined by the PEPPOL BIS Message Level Response (a Post-Award Coordinating Community / POACC transaction) on the OASIS UBL 2.1 ApplicationResponse document. Maintained by OpenPEPPOL AISBL.
Example in context
<cac:DocumentResponse><cac:Response><cbc:ResponseCode>RE</cbc:ResponseCode></cac:Response></cac:DocumentResponse> — document rejected.
