peppol-doctype-wildcard
The wildcard discovery scheme that simplifies PINT receiver registration.
Definition
Without wildcards, a receiver would need a separate SMP entry per jurisdiction specialisation. The wildcard scheme uses a trailing * so one registration matches many CustomizationID variants; the SMP resolution applies a best/longest-match algorithm. It complements, and is contrasted with, the exact-match busdox-docid-qns scheme.
Origin
Defined in the OpenPeppol 'Policy for use of Identifiers' (Peppol EDN) and the Peppol Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) specification, alongside the PINT rollout, published on docs.peppol.eu.
