OBIS
OBIS code from IEC 62056-61, metering and energy messaging.
Definition
An OBIS code is a sequence of groups A-B:C.D.E*F (e.g. 1-0:1.8.0) denoting the medium, channel and nature of the measurement. It acts as the logical name in DLMS/COSEM and identifies the metered values carried by the energy-market MSCONS and UTILMD messages.
Origin
Defined by IEC 62056-61 (Object Identification System, OBIS), part of the IEC 62056 series "Electricity metering — Data exchange for meter reading, tariff and load control", published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC TC 13).
Example in context
OBIS 1-0:1.8.0 = active energy imported, cumulative total (kWh); 1-0:1.8.1 and 1-0:1.8.2 = the same values at tariffs 1 and 2.
