MABD
A retail punctuality metric, central to supplier OTIF programs.
Definition
MABD sets the date (often a window of a few days) by which a supplier must deliver to be counted 'on time'. A delivery outside the window — early or late — is penalized under retailer OTIF programs such as Walmart's. The date is typically carried in the EDI 850 / ORDERS purchase order.
Origin
Concept formalized in retail supplier programs, notably Walmart's OTIF (On-Time In-Full / Supplier Quality) program.
Example in context
DTM+2:20260630:102' in an EDIFACT ORDERS — MABD set to 30 June 2026.
