ISO 20022 CreditDebitIndicator element of statements and balances.
Definition
CdtDbtInd takes the value CRDT or DBIT and qualifies the direction of amounts in Ntry, Bal and TxDtls of camt statements. Combined with amount and currency it removes any sign ambiguity during reconciliation; a closing balance is thus typed CRDT or DBIT.
Origin
CRDT/DBIT values of the CreditDebitCode code set, defined in the ISO 20022 Data Dictionary (ISO TC 68/SC 9) and used by the camt messages.
