Definition
acmt.001 AccountOpeningInstruction is sent by the account holder (or its organisation) to the financial institution to instruct the opening of a new account and convey its characteristics: mandate holders, authorised signatures, currency, restrictions. It opens the account-management cycle, whose statuses are reported via acmt.002 (Account Opening Additional Information Request) and acmt.005 (Request For Account Management Status Report).

Defined in the ISO 20022 Message Definition Report of the Account Management business area (ISO TC 68/SC 9), maintained by the Registration Authority through the Registration Management Group.
