ISA13
ISA13 element of the ISA header, X12 control-number management.
Definition
ISA13 (Interchange Control Number) is a 9-position numeric assigned by the sender, normally ascending and unique per trading pair. The closing IEA segment repeats this number in IEA02: a mismatch flags a truncated or out-of-sync envelope. The ISA13 / IEA02 pair is the anchor for deduplicating inbound interchanges.
Origin
Defined in the ASC X12 Interchange Control Structures (X12.5 / X12.6), published by the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ANSI ASC X12).
