IFLA-RECORDS
Notices IFLA. See official source.
Definition
Bibliographic record format from the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) — used alongside MARC for inter-library exchange.
Origin
IFLA, founded in 1927, publishes the ISBD (International Standard Bibliographic Description). IFLA records are exchanged alongside the EDIFACT BOPCUS / SLSRPT messages of the book sector.
Use
A public library purchasing consortium sends its orders in EDIFACT and receives IFLA records in parallel to enrich its catalogue.
