Swiss IBAN — ISO 13616 variant of 21 characters for Switzerland, prefixed CH. Embeds the QR-IBAN, the routing format used by the QR-bill of the Swiss payment system.
Origin
Managed by SIX Interbank Clearing for the Swiss market. The QR-bill, launched in 2020, uses a QR-IBAN in IID 30000-31999 to carry the structured payment reference.
Use
In an ISO 20022 pain.001 to Switzerland, the CH IBAN is carried by <CdtrAcct><Id><IBAN>; EDI tools validate the length (21) and the modulo-97 check digit before transmission.
