Definition

Hexagonal separates Application Core (use cases, domain), Ports (driving/driven interfaces), Adapters (HTTP, EDI, SQL). Tests: domain testable without infra. Variants: Onion (Palermo 2008), Clean (Martin 2012). Typical EDI app: EDIFACT adapter → InvoiceImporter port.
