GSRN — Global Service Relation Number, 18-digit GS1 key that identifies the relationship between a service provider and a recipient (patient, pupil, subscriber).

Origin

Published by GS1 in the GS1 General Specifications. Encoded in Application Identifier (8018) in GS1-128 and in healthcare EDIFACT messages.

Use

A hospital identifies the patient + care pathway pair by GSRN; EDIFACT MEDPRE and MEDRPT messages leverage this key for billing and clinical tracking.
