Definition
The GCN identifies an individual coupon offer. It is built from the GS1 Company Prefix, a coupon reference and a check digit, optionally followed by a serial number, all carried by AI (255).

Defined in the GS1 General Specifications (GCN key, Application Identifier 255), published and maintained by GS1.
