Factur-X BASIC profile

BASIC is the simplest Factur-X profile to include invoice lines while remaining EN 16931 compliant.

Definition

The BASIC profile of Factur-X is the first level that carries line-item detail (description, quantity, price, per-line VAT) in addition to header data and the VAT breakdown. As such, it is compliant with the EN 16931 standard.

What it is for

• Issue compliant e-invoices covering most simple commercial transactions.
• Automate line reading and posting end-to-end on the receiver's side.
• Serve as a realistic baseline for SMEs that do not need the advanced fields of the EXTENDED profile.

Good to know

BASIC covers a subset of EN 16931 that is sufficient for common cases; for richer needs (allocation, complex discounts, sector-specific entries), one moves up to the EN 16931 (formerly Comfort) or EXTENDED profiles.
