Definition

ESMA annually publishes: ESEF taxonomy, ESEF Reporting Manual (guidance), Q&A. Coordination with the IFRS Foundation as taxonomy basis. Supervision delegated to national competent authorities (NCAs) for filing oversight via national OAMs (Officially Appointed Mechanism) like INFOREG in France.

ESMA created 1 January 2011 by EU Regulation 1095/2010.
