The building block of the EN 16931 semantic model of the electronic invoice.
Definition
A Business Term is the smallest unit of information in the EN 16931 semantic model (e.g. BT-1 Invoice number, BT-5 Invoice currency code). Each BT has a definition, a cardinality and a data type, then is bound to an XML path by the part 3-x documents during syntax mapping.
Origin
The "Business Term / Business Group" concept and terminology are defined in EN 16931-1:2017, published by CEN/TC 434.
