UCI
Service segment of the CONTRL syntax acknowledgement message.
Definition
UCI carries the interchange control reference (from UNB), the sender and recipient, then an action code (e.g. 7 = accepted, 4 = rejected) and a syntax error code locating the cause. It is the top-level segment in the CONTRL response hierarchy.
Origin
Defined in the UNTDID CONTRL message specification and in ISO 9735, which governs EDIFACT service segments; maintained by UN/CEFACT.
Example in context
<UCI+12345+5012345000009:14+4012345500004:14+4+13> (action 4 = rejected, error 13 = missing value)
