BAPLIE
UN/EDIFACT vessel bayplan/stowage message, SMDG.
Definition
BAPLIE transmits information on all locations of a vessel (occupied and empty) to interested parties — the ship-owner and the terminal at the next port of call. Per container: number, size-type code, weight (including VGM), stowage position, load/discharge ports and responsible operator.
Origin
UN/EDIFACT UNSM (UNECE UNTDID directories) designed by SMDG (User Group for Shipping Lines and Container Terminals).
Example in context
A terminal receives a BAPLIE 2.2 or 3.x before vessel arrival; each LOC segment carries the bay-row-tier (e.g. 0340082) and the EQD the corresponding container number.
