CUIT — Clave Única de Identificación Tributaria, 11-digit Argentine tax identifier issued by AFIP. Mandatory for any electronic invoice in the AFIP-FE format in Argentina.
Origin
Managed by AFIP since 1992. Validity check uses a modulo-11 key algorithm on the first 10 digits.
Use
CUIT is mandatory in the <Emisor>/<Receptor> XML tags of the Argentine e-invoice (FE-AFIP RG 4291 scheme). EDI gateways validate the CUIT before issuance.
