CST

UN/EDIFACT segment carrying customs commodity identities inside CUSDEC and related messages.

Definition

The CST segment carries up to several C246 Customs Identity Codes composite elements, each pairing a customs goods identifier (data element 7361) with its code list identification and responsible-agency codes. It binds a declaration line (goods item number 1496) to tariff classification, customs procedure and intended-use codes, and appears in CUSDEC, CUSCAR and CUSEXP detail sections.

Origin

Defined in the UN/EDIFACT Trade Data Segment Directory maintained by UN/CEFACT; the segment description appears in the UNTDID directories (e.g. D.24A, file trsdcst).

Example in context

<CST+1+87032190:122:6' — CST tagging goods item 1 with a customs tariff code under code-list responsible agency 6.

  • CUSDEC — declaration whose detail lines carry CST.
  • CUSRES — customs response referencing the declared status.
