Component Data Element Separator
An EDIFACT syntax service character defined by ISO 9735.
Definition
The component data element separator works one level below the « + »: it separates the components inside a single composite. Its default value « : » is the first service character declared by the UNA segment.

Example in context
In the C516 composite of a MOA segment, MOA+86:1250.00:EUR', the « : » characters separate the three components: qualifier, amount, currency.
