CFDI
Pioneering decentralised clearance model, in force since 2011.
Definition
The CFDI is generated by the issuer, then sent to an Authorised Certification Provider (PAC) that validates, seals (timbrado) and assigns a unique identifier (UUID / Folio Fiscal) on behalf of the administration (SAT). Only a stamped CFDI is fiscally valid.
Origin
Governed by the Código Fiscal de la Federación and the rules (Anexo 20) published by Mexico's Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT); current version CFDI 4.0.
Example in context
<tfd:TimbreFiscalDigital UUID="5A7B…" FechaTimbrado="2026-06-20T10:00:00" .../> — the stamp block added by the PAC.
