eDelivery
EU interoperability building block, CEF-then-DEP context.
Definition
eDelivery provides a governance framework and specifications (the eDelivery AS4 profile, SMP/SML profiles) rather than a single piece of software. It underpins PEPPOL, the e-CODEX justice network, and VAT/customs exchanges. The four-corner model links sender (C1) and receiver (C4) via two access points (C2, C3).
Origin
Maintained by the European Commission (DG DIGIT); originally funded under the Connecting Europe Facility (Regulation (EU) No 1316/2013), now under the Digital Europe Programme (Regulation (EU) 2021/694).
Example in context
eDelivery profiles cited in an interconnection agreement: "AS4 eDelivery profile v2.0 + SMP v1.0 + SML, over the e-CODEX network".
