Buyer reference (BT-10)

EN 16931 business term carrying the buyer's routing reference.

Definition

BT-10 is a text field in the EN 16931 semantic model intended for a reference requested by the buyer. In several B2G regimes it becomes mandatory because it carries the routing identifier: in Germany the Leitweg-ID is placed here. It maps to cbc:BuyerReference in UBL syntax and to a BuyerReference in CII.

Origin

Defined as business term BT-10 in the semantic data model of standard EN 16931-1 published by CEN/TC 434.

Example in context

UBL: <cbc:BuyerReference>04011000-1234512345-06</cbc:BuyerReference> (the Leitweg-ID is carried in BT-10).

  • Leitweg-ID — the German routing identifier carried in BT-10.
  • EN 16931 — the standard that defines this business term.
