NBR (National Bureau for Revenue) administers Bahraini VAT (10% since January 1, 2022, doubled from previous 5%). Piloting since 2023 the eInvoicing project inspired by the Saudi FATOORA model. Public consultation 2024, launch expected 2025.

Origin

NBR established 2018. VAT introduced January 2019 at 5%, raised to 10% in January 2022. eInvoicing roadmap 2025.
